Pegues won the 2001 XFL championship as a member of the Los
Angeles Extreme...In April 1999, signed as an undrafted free agent
with the Cincinnati Bengals and spent the 1999 season on the team's
practice squad. Attended training camp with the Bengals in 2000,
but was released prior to the start of the regular season. |

Pegues started for three seasons at defensive tackle for the
University of Miami (FL) before transferring to Illinois State
for his senior season. As a Redbird, Pegues was named to the 1998
Burger King I-AA Coaches All-America team and selected to play
in the 1999 East West Shrine Game after a season in which he recorded
56 tackles and three sacks, and helped lead the Redbirds to their
first-ever appearance in the I-AA playoffs.
